Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "5th of May") is a regional holiday in Mexico, primarily celebrated in the state of Puebla. It is not an obligatory federal holiday. The holiday commemorates an initial victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. The date is observed in the United States, and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.
A common misconception in the United States is that Cinco de Mayo is Mexico's Independence Day; Mexico's Independence Day is actually September 16, which is the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico.
My best friend, Mabelyn posted a little something about Brighton and I on her blog. Here's a screenshot of the section. Brighton's the one sitting in the chair, and I'm behind him (my hair's in a ponytail). I think she took this picture the day I moved in (he had already been in the house for about a week).
Note the orange light-up Halloween witch candle on the left (on top of my computer). LOL. I must be surrounded by witchy-things... no matter how cliche. LOL.

By the way, I have had the funky chair he's sitting in for a few years now. It's hands-down one of the most comfortable things I have ever sat in! It just eats you into itself... hence the look on my lover's face! LOL.
I found a video clip of Carly Smithson performing "Jesus Christ Superstar" on American Idol, the night before she got eliminated on YouTube and posted it my older ranting entry below.
~ STILL LOVE YOU, CARLY!!!! ~ LOL ~ She was awesome. ~
